RESHMA & SURAJ, FAIRYHILL, GOWER PENINSULA

”I didnt fall in love with you I walked into love with you with my eyes wide open” Not my words but Suraj produced one of the most incredibly heart warming groom speeches I have ever heard. As I stood behind the cmaeras it was hard not to shed a tear (which I have done on occasions) hence the emergency tissue in my pocket which was needed straight away.

This all started with a phone call while I sat in my car waiting to pick up my daughter from nursery (real-life story right there). Suraj has called me on hearing and finding my details from the venue Fairyhill we ended up chatting for half an hour about all sorts of things but most importantly the difficult Wedding journey they had been on. Like so many others a little pandemic had mixed things up and arrangements had to be made. Well, let me say now I was super grateful they called me. There was only a matter of months before the Wedding and I was already excited. We arranged to catch up while Suraj & Reshma were in Wales on a visit near Cardiff (obviously a coffee shop to help my addiction to caffeine). I was met by two wonderful people, genuine and just so pleasant to be with. Talk revolved around the Wedding but also the red shoes Suraj never said he wouldn’t wear on the Wedding day itself. I am glad to report post-wedding the red shoes did not make an appearance. Fairyhill just outside Swansea is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building in the heart of Gower Peninsula. Tucked in amongst the high trees and proudly showing a renovation from a few years ago. The K room (new addition) is perched amongst the tree line surrounded by forestry. This was where Reshma & Suraj would get married. My team and I deliver Wedding Videography and Wedding Photography based near the Gower Peninsula but travelling around the UK delivering a standard of Film & Photography which is combined for a truly luxury approach. Enough about what we do more of the day itself. Reshma & Suraj had their own cottages set up for preparations with Reshma having bridal prep at Cerrig Glan (which is part of the rustic retreats collection from Fairyhill set upon the marshland on the Gower it has spectacular views to take in ahead of Wedding celebrations. The day was a bit drizzly to start with but brightened up as we went along with canopies and rinks on the lawn at Fairyhill. I was so glad as the day unfolded so wonderfully. The ceremony was a civil one with vows exchanged with a select few of guests as we were just moving out of restrictions. I am not sure however I was ever prepared for the speeches. Not only did Suraj the groom speak so emotionally and with such love but the supporting cast of Reshmas maid of honour and Suraj’s best man provided laughs and nothing but more love. I honestly can say that they were some of the best I have witnessed from many viewpoints. It is always a conversation if the bride & groom want to spend time away from the Wedding. With Fairyhill so ideally located, there are some incredible views to go and take it in. We decided to head down to Worms head an iconic destination Rhossili on the Gower. Resh and Suraj were so accomodating and we heading off. We were there long enough t get some incredible shots of both of them and this will forever stay with them. The day wrapped up after this and as everyone relaxed back at the venue Resh & Suraj strolled back into conversation with all their guests. Guests had travelled from across the UK with Suraj & Reshma now beginning a new life together in London. Enjoy browsing their Photos and feel free to click on the insight video.
